Circle CFO Fox-Geen will leave by year-end as Neville exits the board
Circle Internet Group's September 25, 2026 8-K, accepted at 16:05 UTC, says co-founder P. Sean Neville resigned from the board that day for personal reasons and the board shrank from eight directors to seven. The company said the exit was not a disagreement over operations, policies, or practices. Chief financial officer Jeremy Fox-Geen also said he will step down, staying through December 31, 2026 or until a successor is named, at his $500,000 annualized salary and a 110% target bonus. Circle has started a search for the next CFO.

CleanSpark prices $2.276 billion of 7.875% notes due 2031
CSDC Finance I, LLC, a CleanSpark subsidiary, completed a private offering of 7.875% senior secured notes due October 1, 2031 on September 25, 2026. The aggregate principal was $2,276.0 million, issued at 98.500% of par, with interest on April 1 and October 1 starting April 1, 2027, and Morgan Stanley as representative of the initial purchasers. Net proceeds are slated for the Sandersville, Georgia data center, reimbursement of prior equity contributions, and debt service reserves. The issuer may redeem after October 1, 2028 at indenture prices, or earlier with a make-whole, and a change of control requires a 101% repurchase offer.

Riot prepays its Coinbase Credit facility and releases the bitcoin pledge
Riot Platforms said it completed a full voluntary prepayment on September 21, 2026 of all principal under its Second Amended and Restated Credit Agreement with Coinbase Credit, Inc. The facility had allowed draws up to $200 million, secured by bitcoin, USDC, and cash held at Coinbase Custody Trust Company, LLC. Riot said no early termination fee applied because the prepayment fell after the four-month anniversary of the original maturity date. The credit agreement and Coinbase Credit's commitment ended, and the security interests were released.

Aave discussion floats a second verifier for cross-chain GHO on CCIP 2.0
An October 4, 2026 Aave governance post describes Countersign, an issuer-operated Cross-Chain Verifier for Chainlink CCIP 2.0. Cross-chain GHO locks tokens on Ethereum and mints through facilitators on other chains. The post says CCIP 2.0, live since September 28, lets a token pool require extra verifiers, and Countersign would re-check the OnRamp event, a supply invariant, outflow and per-sender limits, and a denylist before a large mint or release. The authors say it cannot move funds or loosen rate limits, and they asked whether a GHO testnet pilot is worthwhile.

The existing WBTC/RLUSD market stays at 86% LLTV, and the 250,000,000 RLUSD absolute cap is unchanged. EIP-8435 would put last-written block into Partitioned Binary Tree leaves
An October 4, 2026 Ethereum Magicians draft, EIP-8435, would store a 4-byte last_written_block field in Partitioned Binary Tree leaves from EIP-8297. Accounts would place the field in existing BASIC_DATA by narrowing code_size from 4 bytes to 3, so accounts grow by 0 bytes. Storage leaves would grow from 32 to 36 bytes. The draft says it changes no gas costs and, unlike EIP-8188 on the Merkle Patricia Tree, a storage write would not update the account header field.

Coinbase is investigating delayed World Chain sends and receives
Coinbase Status opened incident n4ltx9ddt8gb at 16:52 Pacific on October 4, 2026 for delayed sends and receives on World Chain. The first update said buys, sells, and fiat withdrawals and deposits were not affected, and that funds were safe. The incident remained in investigating status as of 16:53 Pacific the same day.
