Overnight Ethereum research and DeFi forums did the work while spot prices slipped. The CoinGecko snapshot fetched at 00:18 UTC on September 11, 2026 put Bitcoin at $76,804, down 1.9% over 24 hours. Ether was $2,448.80, down 0.8%. Solana was $99.08, down 2.3%. Global market cap sat near $2.63 trillion, bitcoin dominance about 58.5%, and 24-hour volume about $88.8 billion.
Ethresear.ch sketched a Temporal Liquidity Authorization that would let EIP-1559 treat the base fee as a midpoint, not a floor. Vitalik Buterin argued that partitioned binary trees can retire three overlapping code-delegation tricks. Grove asked Sky’s September 24 spell to send 800,000 USDS and onboard a Base Morpho vault. Uniswap Labs asked DUNI to rotate Sentinel keys on Earn vaults.
Ethresear.ch sketches a TLA field that would make EIP-1559's base fee a midpoint
DanGuo posted a September 9, 2026 mechanism sketch (the thread went live September 10) that adds one signed Temporal Liquidity Authorization field. A TLA greater than zero funds an earlier intra-block band, zero leaves ordinary EIP-1559 treatment, and a negative value commits a below-base-fee transaction to a later band if it is included. The post is a sketch, not an EIP, and it claims one-block scope with no new protocol state. Positive TLA is a lump-sum wei authorization, not a per-gas bid.
Vitalik: partitioned binary trees could retire Ethereum's three delegation tricks
On Ethereum Magicians, Vitalik Buterin argued that EIP-8297's partitioned binary tree would store contract code in a separate tree indexed by codehash. That would let the protocol point at code by hash instead of juggling traditional delegation, EIP-7702's 23-byte enshrined pointer, and SETCODEFROM (EIP-8298). He frames the cleanup for a later upgrade he labels I*, not a live hard fork. Codehash-to-code would stay immutable even if an account can change which hash it uses.
Grove asks Sky's September 24 spell for 800,000 USDS and a new Base Morpho vault
GroveLabs posted technical scope for Sky's September 24, 2026 spell: 800,000 USDS to the Grove Foundation multisig at 0xE3EC4CC359E68c9dCE15Bf667b1aD37Df54a5a42 for the September operating budget, plus a Grove x Steakhouse USDC Morpho vault on Base (0xbeef0786756810478b88982DE00F3CD7fdB8e7c7) with a 20 million USDC deposit cap, a 20 million-per-day slope, and a 1.15 USDC-per-share max exchange rate. The same spell would onboard a BUIDL-I Basin instance with a 5 million USDS deposit cap and lift Diamond PAU unwind limits from 14,929,920 (read at block 25,947,222 on September 10) to unlimited. This is proposed scope, not an executed executive vote.
Uniswap Labs asks DUNI to rotate Sentinel keys on three Earn vaults
Uniswap Labs filed an RFC to call setIsSentinel six times on the DUNI-owned uniUSDC, uniUSDT, and uniETH Morpho Vaults V2 on Ethereum. Gauntlet upgraded its signing infrastructure, so each vault would grant a new Sentinel address and revoke the legacy one. Owner stays the mainnet Timelock at 0x1a9C8182C09F50C8318d769245beA52c32BE35BC, while caps, adapters, and fees stay unchanged and performance fees are still zero. A Sentinel can lower caps or unwind a curator action, but it cannot drain deposits.
Myrmidon applies to run Lido stVaults as a professional node operator
MYRMIDON ApS (Denmark, CVR 43423843) asked Lido to admit it as a stVaults Professional Operator for a pooled Ethereum product that accepts stakes from 0.01 ETH. The firm says it has run validators since 2022 with about 1,200 ETH at peak and zero slashing, using Nethermind and Prysm, and that it currently does not run MEV-Boost. It targets 1,000 ETH in the pool within 12 months and charges a 10% node-operator fee. The post states there is no independent audit of its own operations, and this is an admission request, not a passed vote.
On September 10, chfast opened a GitHub pull request to update EIP-8037 so a transaction's gas limit still fits in an unsigned 32-bit integer. The PR says applying EIP-7825's cap to execution-gas alone leaves tx.gas bounded only by the block gas limit, so it would add TX_MAX_TOTAL_GAS_LIMIT at 4,294,967,295. The bound is described as far from binding: a code-deposit budget of roughly 2.8 MB, about 43 times the EIP-7954 contract size limit. It is an open spec patch, not a scheduled fork.
Coinbase Status opened an incident at 07:35 PDT on September 10 (14:35 UTC) for delayed sends on the Polkadot network. Receives, buys, sells, and fiat withdrawals and deposits were listed as unaffected, and the venue said funds are safe. As of that update the incident was still investigating, with no later restore note on the status page.
Kraken restores MultiversX (EGLD) deposits after a same-day funding delay
Kraken Status opened a MultiversX (EGLD) funding-gateway investigation at 13:33 UTC on September 10, saying deposits and withdrawals may be delayed while other methods ran normally. The incident moved to identified at 15:00 UTC, monitoring at 17:03 UTC, and resolved at 19:09 UTC. Kraken labeled it a minor incident.
