Monday bitcoin was a touch greener and ether a shade softer. The CoinGecko snapshot fetched at 00:04 UTC on September 28, 2026 put Bitcoin at $84,505, up 0.19%, ether at $2,688.91, down 0.17%, and Solana at $122.04, up 0.68%. Global market cap sat near $2.88 trillion, bitcoin dominance about 58.7%, and 24-hour volume about $69.1 billion. Cipher Digital added about $5.2 billion of HPC lease revenue at Barber Lake, not a bitcoin buy. Circle started a CFO search after co-founder Sean Neville left the board. A Compound post alleged DAO DAI became COMP votes. Ethereum drafts, Aave B20 notes, an Optimism zlib patch, and a Kraken UAE close-out filled the rest. Map the tape with Bitcoin history, Ethereum history, and Solana history, plus How to read a crypto market snapshot. Keep stablecoin and liquidity notes nearby if USDC borrows and venue liquidations are the day’s stack.

Circle starts a CFO search as co-founder Sean Neville leaves the board
Circle Internet Group, Inc. (NYSE: CRCL) filed an 8-K accepted at 16:05 ET on September 25, 2026. Co-founder P. Sean Neville resigned from the board that day for personal reasons, effective immediately; he had served since 2016, the filing calls it board refreshment rather than a disagreement, and the board shrank from eight directors to seven. The same day, CFO Jeremy Fox-Geen said he will step down. He stays as CFO through the end of December 2026 unless a successor is named sooner, keeps a $500,000 annualized base and a 2026 incentive target of 110% of base, and after a December 31, 2026 resignation date receives $1,050,000 over 12 months, two extra months of restricted stock units, and a 12-month option-exercise extension against a 24-month non-solicit and a 12-month non-compete. The furnished press release notes he joined in May 2021 and cites Circle's $1.2 billion IPO.

Compound forum post alleges Foundation turned 8.42 million DAI into COMP votes
On September 27, 2026 at 20:50 UTC, Compound forum user ugurmersin posted that Proposal 536 put 8.42 million DAI of DAO reserves under Foundation stewardship for protocol operations only, with no discretionary trading and no Foundation-specific spend. The post says that DAI went to an exchange, came back as 344,780 COMP, and was delegated to the Foundation's voting address, arriving at the Safe 58 minutes before the cutoff on Proposals 580 and 582. With those votes, the author says, the Foundation helped move nearly all DAO funds under the Treasury Management Committee and passed a $52 million V4 program that benefits itself. The thread is a one-post allegation with no Foundation reply in the JSON we pulled; the numbers are the author's, not a confirmed finding.

Ethresear reruns EIP-8411 payload splits under the Shadow simulator
On September 23, 2026 at 07:16 UTC, cskiraly posted a follow-up to EIP-8411 on Ethresear.ch (topic 26070) after rerunning the main comparison under Shadow over QUIC and TCP, plus the same code on a real Linux network stack. A-tuned, the earlier recommended design, matched the prior record within a few percent, and every segmented variant stayed faster than sending the whole message in every configuration tested. The cell uses 500 nodes and a 1 MiB payload with a 3 second budget. On one Linux machine, 100 processes landed A-tuned and C over QUIC inside the simulators' spread, while the whole message kept the machine two to four times busier. The post says this still does not test the bandwidth model, a full client, or a node's own CPU cost.

LlamaRisk files Aave V4 Base notes on Coinbase B20 Mag7 equities
On September 24, 2026 at 09:10 UTC, LlamaRisk opened Aave governance thread 25690 for Coinbase B20 tokenized equities on Aave V4 Base. The first technical review, posted at 09:18 UTC, says the market would initially list Magnificent Seven names in B20 form (AAPLc, AMZNc, GOOGLc, METAc, MSFTc, NVDAc, and TSLAc) as collateral in a dedicated Equities Hub, with USDC as the only borrowable asset. Each token is described as a certificate over shares in segregated custody under an ADGM-law bare trust, offered under a public prospectus the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority approved on August 4, 2026 and that stays valid until August 3, 2027. Secondary-market buyers are unvested: they get economic exposure but no redemption right until they finish the issuer's vesting process.

Optimism patches op-challenger 1.10.0 for a zlib CVE and ZK groundwork
Optimism published op-challenger v1.10.0 at 17:52 UTC on September 25, 2026 and called it recommended for all op-challenger operators. The image is rebuilt on a patched base that moves zlib from 1.3.2-r7 to 1.3.2.1_rc20260601-r0 and resolves CVE-2026-85091. Same-day op-proposer v1.16.6 and op-dispute-mon v1.6.2 notes say those images carry no code changes, only the zlib rebuild. The challenger notes also add ZK-proof groundwork that is not running in production, and a TRACE_TYPE=zk challenger no longer treats a missing data directory as an error.

Kraken completes the UAE delisting cycle for XMR, ZEC, and three dollar stables
Kraken's status incident wktgpx1dc3jk moved to completed at 12:11 UTC on September 25, 2026. The June 1 notice had scheduled a UAE-only delisting cycle for XMR, ZEC, DASH, USDD, DAI, USDS, and USDE. Open margin was due to close at 14:00 UTC on June 15, deposits, trading, and margin at 14:00 UTC on June 16, withdrawals at 14:00 UTC on September 14, and remaining balances from September 15 through September 25. The completion note closes that window; it is not a new asset review, and proceeds denomination was never guaranteed.
