FCA confiscation orders start a £1.5 million crypto-fraud payback
On September 28, 2026 at Southwark Crown Court, the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority obtained confiscation orders against Raymondip Bedi for £603,404.28 and Patrick Mavanga for £247,997.99 after a £1,541,799 crypto investment fraud that hit at least 65 investors. Between February 2017 and June 2019 the pair cold-called consumers into fake cryptoasset deals through companies including CCX Capital and Astaria Group LLP. In July 2025 Bedi was sentenced to 5 years and 4 months and Mavanga to 6 years and 6 months. The FCA says recovered funds go back to victims, and unpaid orders after 3 months add up to 5 more years in prison for Bedi or 2 years for Mavanga.

Bitmine says ETH holdings crossed 6 million tokens
Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: BMNR) furnished an Item 7.01 8-K on September 28, 2026 with a press release dated the same day. As of 3:00 p.m. ET on September 27, 2026 it reported 6,001,302 ETH marked at $2,698 per token on Coinbase, 213 BTC, $672 million of cash and marketable securities, and a $17.2 billion total that also includes $180 million in Beast Industries and $115 million in Eightco (NASDAQ: ORBS). The ETH stack is 4.9% of a 122.1 million circulating supply, and 5,067,309 ETH were staked, about $13.7 billion at that mark. The release says the company bought 17,362 ETH over the prior week; this is an FD disclosure, not a 10-Q audit.

Hut 8 closes a $1.07 billion JPMorgan revolver with nothing drawn
Hut 8 Corp. (NASDAQ: HUT) filed an 8-K for events dated September 24, 2026 describing a Credit Agreement with JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. as administrative and collateral agent. The facility is a senior secured revolving line of up to $1,070.0 million, including a matching letter-of-credit sublimit, that can be borrowed, repaid, and reborrowed until the fourth anniversary of closing, and as of the closing date no amounts were outstanding. Loans price at Adjusted Term SOFR (0% floor) plus 1.50% to 2.00%, or an alternate base rate plus 0.50% to 1.00%, initially 1.750% and 0.750%. A first-priority lien covers substantially all assets of the company and guarantors, a minimum-liquidity covenant starts with the quarter ending March 31, 2027 at 40% of commitments before a Stabilization Date and 25% after, and this is a credit line rather than a bitcoin purchase.

Soluna expands Bitdeer co-mining at Project Kati 1 to 35 MW
Soluna Holdings (NASDAQ: SLNH) furnished a September 28, 2026 8-K and press release saying it amended its agreement with Dory Creek, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ: BTDR). Bitdeer will add about 7 MW of Bitcoin mining kit at Soluna's Project Kati 1 in Willacy County, Texas, taking the pad to 35 MW and about 2.42 EH/s. The site is an 83 MW wind-powered data center, the K1BC phase is now fully subscribed, and the expansion is expected to finish in November 2026. Soluna supplies site, power, and operations while Bitdeer owns Sealminer A2 Pro Air machines, and the parties share mining proceeds under the same co-mining structure introduced in August.

Prysm v7.2.0 sets Gloas on Sepolia, but keeps a 60M gas default
Offchain Labs shipped Prysm v7.2.0 on September 28, 2026. The release schedules the Gloas fork on Sepolia at epoch 353024 (October 6, 2026, 13:53:36 UTC) and requires Sepolia operators to update, with an execution client that supports Amsterdam on that testnet; Gloas is not yet scheduled for Hoodi or mainnet. The Sepolia 200 million gas-limit schedule from September 24 is not in this build, so validators default to a 60 million gas limit in Gloas proposer preferences unless they set gas_limit to 200000000 in a version 2 proposer settings file or through the keymanager API. The --suggested-gas-limit flag only applies to pre-Gloas mev-boost registrations.

Reth v2.7.0 tells Sepolia operators to upgrade before October 6
Paradigm published Reth v2.7.0 on September 28, 2026 to prepare Sepolia for the Glamsterdam Amsterdam hardfork. Sepolia operators must upgrade before October 6, 2026 at 13:53:36 UTC. The build enables persistent RocksDB storage for block access lists and lets read-only tools open older databases that lack BAL tables. Default RPC cache counts drop from 5,000 to 1,000 blocks and from 2,000 to 500 receipts, a shared sender-recovery cache is on by default, and the testing RPC namespace now needs explicit selection.

Aave ARFC lets Sentora curate a V4 hub that borrows only three stables
On September 28, 2026 Sentora posted an ARFC to run externally curated Hub and Spoke instances on Aave V4, starting with one Ethereum hub. Sentora would pick collateral, risk parameters, rate curves, and oracles, while the Aave DAO keeps smart-contract and admin ownership through the Governance Short Executor and takes 50% of instance revenue. Borrowable liquidity is limited to RLUSD, PYUSD, and OUSD; other listed assets are collateral only with a 0% rate and a zero draw cap. Risk-reducing changes would execute immediately, risk-increasing updates wait 48 hours, new hubs or collateral markets wait a two-week optimistic process, and no credit lines to or from Aave DAO hubs are authorized in this draft.

Ethresear.ch sketches ML-DSA stealth spends to replace ECDSA
On September 28, 2026 a post on Ethresear.ch titled PQ spending for Stealth Address Protocol laid out the third note in a stealth-address series. The author argues a quantum attacker who reads the on-chain ERC-6538 registry and ERC-5564 announcer can recover ephemeral and spending keys and then view and spend stealth payments. The note upgrades half-ECDH with ML-KEM for discovery and unlinkability, and it tries ML-DSA plus hash-based spending (HSAP) as schemeId 6 so authorization is also post-quantum. Gas figures are flagged as likely to move; this is a research sketch, not a shipped Ethereum upgrade.

Coinbase will convert Story (IP) to Data (DATA) from October 5 to 7
Coinbase posted a scheduled-maintenance note at 17:15 PDT on September 28, 2026, which is 00:15 UTC on September 29. The venue will convert Story (IP) to Data (DATA) from October 5 through October 7, 2026. Story (IP) trading will be disabled on October 5, and the status page tells customers not to deposit or transfer IP during the window. Data (DATA) trading is slated to begin after the migration on October 7; this is a ticker and asset conversion on one venue, not a chain halt.
